What happens next
With the Governing Board of The Buckingham School, we will consider all responses we receive.
The Leader of Buckinghamshire Council, with the Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services, will take into consideration any representations made before making a decision on the final outcome. We expect this decision to be made in August 2026.
If the proposal to open a Cognition and Learning Unit is agreed, it is anticipated that building works would start in the autumn term 2026 and complete in December 2026.
The new Unit would then open in January 2027. Pupil numbers would be gradually increased each year – until reaching the total capacity of eight.
