Education Places Sufficiency Strategy 2027 to 2032 consultation
Overview
We want to hear your views on our proposed new Education Places Sufficiency Strategy 2027 to 2032, to help us shape the final version of the strategy.
Buckinghamshire's education system is one of the county's greatest strengths. Our proposed strategy sets out how we will ensure that education, childcare and SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) provision continues to meet local needs, supports planned growth and provides the right places at the right time over the next five years.
We need to ensure that there are enough high-quality, suitable school places for every child, including those with SEND. We must also ensure that families can access Early Years Education Entitlements, which provide funded childcare for eligible children from nine months to school age, and that there is an appropriate and sufficient mix of provision available for young people post 16.
The new Education Places Sufficiency Strategy 2027 to 2032 will outline how we will ensure that school and early years places for children and young people in Buckinghamshire will be provided in 'the right place at the right time', balancing quality, accessibility, value for money and financial sustainability.
To help write the strategy, we carried out engagement activities with schools, schools' representative groups, early years provider representative groups and post 16 providers. This early feedback was used to develop the draft strategy.
We want to hear from Buckinghamshire residents, education providers and other stakeholders.
