Overview

Together with our partners, we are undertaking a review of the 'visitor economy'. We are looking at all the touchpoints that visitors to Buckinghamshire see and enjoy - from accommodation to attractions, conferences to culture and pubs to paths.

Visitor spending in Buckinghamshire supports more than 13,000 local jobs and over 2,000 small businesses across the county. The trends are positive but like any industry, future growth needs to be sustainable. It needs to not undermine or threaten the assets and communities that make Buckinghamshire so special in the first place.

The Visitor Economy Strategy

Our aim is to develop a strategy that identifies a collective vision of what the county should strive for. We aim to identify those key activities that are needed to optimise the benefits of tourism and leisure to businesses, residents and other interests in the county.

We aim to consider all the opportunities and develop a plan that positions and promotes Buckinghamshire both as a great place to visit but also as a great place to live and work. We also want to use this opportunity to review how best we work together to ensure that everyone is signed up to our new approach and ready to deliver!
