We received only 1 response to this consultation from an internal consultee. We reviewed their feedback and changed our recommendation for the direction of priority traffic to Northbound.

Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Transport approved the traffic-calming recommendation on 2 March 2020 and the decision came into effect from 6 March 2020.

The works will be carried out following completion of the Section 278 Legal Agreement and a successful road space application by the appointed contractor.

Overview

Buckinghamshire County Council logo

We are proposing to introduce traffic-calming on Reedham Road, Burnham and would like to hear your views on this proposal. This public consultation is part of planning application 17/01126/FUL.

The proposed traffic-calming feature will be a single 'build-out' on the road. It will be constructed and funded by the developers of 24 Britwell Road, as part of their wider highway works. These works will include:

  • constructing a new site access with dropped kerbs and tactile paving for pedestrians
  • narrowing a section of the road to 5.5 metres approaching the traffic-calming build-out, as well as for a short length beyond it
  • introducing loading restrictions on the western side of the road to ensure a clear route around the build out. This will be subject to a separate consultation as it needs a separate traffic regulation order)

We will notify Thames Valley Police of this intention.

What happens next

All comments received will be collated and considered before a report is prepared. This report will go to the Council’s Cabinet Member for Transportation who will make a decision on the proposal.

Consultees will be informed of the decision once it has been made and we will publish the outcome on this webpage.
