Aston Abbotts Neighbourhood Plan submission consultation
Overview
We want to hear the views of local residents and organisations on the Neighbourhood Plan for Aston Abbotts.
In July 2015, the Parish of Aston Abbotts was designated a neighbourhood area by Buckinghamshire Council. This followed an application by Aston Abbotts Parish Council.
Aston Abbotts Parish Council has now completed a period of local community engagement on the Aston Abbotts Neighbourhood Plan and have submitted the final version to us.
The next stage of the process is for us, as the local authority, to carry out a public consultation on the submitted plan.
This is the final opportunity for local people to comment on the plan before it goes to independent examination.
The Aston Abbotts Neighbourhood Plan includes policies to shape local development to:
- protect the rural character of the village and identify protected views
- influence the design of new development in the conservation area
- identify local heritage assets
- protect and enhance biodiversity
- introduce a settlement boundary
- introduce a design guide and codes
- influence sustainable, energy efficient development
- protect community facilities
- designate local green spaces
- promote small business and agriculture uses
- influence transport, including parking and public rights of way

If the plan passes independent examination, the next stage is a local referendum to see whether it has community support.
If the neighbourhood plan is supported, we will adopt it as part of local planning policy to assess planning applications in the neighbourhood area.
