Stoke Mandeville Neighbourhood Plan submission consultation 2025

Closes 22 Jan 2026

Opened 4 Dec 2025

Overview

Buckinghamshire Council logo

We want to hear the views of local residents and organisations on the Neighbourhood Plan for Stoke Mandeville.

In July 2015, the Parish of Stoke Mandeville was designated a neighbourhood area by Buckinghamshire Council. This followed an application by Stoke Mandeville Parish Council.

Following consultation in 2024, Stoke Mandeville Parish Council took the decision to withdraw the proposed neighbourhood plan to make some further amendments.

Stoke Mandeville Parish Council has now completed this review and have submitted the final version to us.

The next stage of the process is for us, as the local authority, to carry out a public consultation on the submitted plan.

This is the final opportunity for local people to comment on the plan before it goes to independent examination.

The Stoke Mandeville Neighbourhood Plan includes policies to shape local development to:

  • designate local green spaces
  • identify a green buffer
  • identify a settlement boundary
  • influence education and medical provision
  • encourage sports and leisure facilities
  • introduce transport policies for active travel, public transport and traffic congestion
  • influence and support business development
  • preserve heritage assets

If the plan passes independent examination, the next stage is a local referendum to see whether it has community support.

If the neighbourhood plan is supported, we will adopt it as part of local planning policy to assess planning applications in the neighbourhood area.
