A355 Beaconsfield Road - Implementation of De-Restriction Order

Closed 30 Aug 2024

Opened 9 Aug 2024

Overview

Overview

Buckinghamshire Highways are proposing to implement a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) with associated signage on a section of the A355. The section spans from Pyebush roundabout, across the M40 (junction 2) roundabout, towards the end of the dual carriageway.

We are seeking you views on the proposal.

Background

This section of the A355 has terminal national speed limit signs to signify that this is a national speed limit road. However, there is a lack of repeater signs between the south section (Figure 1) and north section (Figure 2). Due to the presence of street lighting (by default this section of road is considered a restricted road and subject to a 30mph speed limit) a TRO is required to derestrict this section of the road.

What we are Proposing

We are proposing to implement a derestriction order with the addition of repeater signs. It is important to note that this order does not change the current speed limit (national speed limit) as it is an administrative function.
