A413 Buckingham Road, Winslow - Signalised Toucan Crossing & Shared - Use Footway
Overview
In anticipation of the new upcoming Winslow Station, Buckinghamshire Highways are proposing to introduce a signalised Toucan Crossing and covert a length of existing footway to Shared - Use on the A413 Buckingham Road, Winslow, from the opposite side of the junction with the B4033 Great Horwood Road to the junction with Highfield Road.
We are seeking your views on the above proposals.
Background
The new Winslow Station has been recently constructed as part of the East West Rail project that connects Oxford and Milton Keynes. This newly upgraded line is anticipated to come into customer use in late 2025.
In co-ordination with the new Winslow Train Station opening, a new Toucan Signalised Crossing is proposed on the A413, Buckingham Road, Winslow. This is to enable residents and train passengers to reach the new station safely by active travel modes, including walking, wheeling and cycling. The crossing would also provide a safer crossing facility for students accessing Sir Thomas Freemantle School and would connect with an existing onward active travel route connecting Winslow, Padbury and Buckingham.
The proposed shared use path extension would also complete a missing link between existing shared use paths and would enable access to the station cycle parking facility.
There is also a parking consultation running concurrently with this consultation. For more information, please click on this link: Proposal for Parking Restrictions near Winslow Station 2025.
