Opened 7 Jun 2024

Overview

Buckinghamshire Highways are proposing to introduce a 40mph speed limit on Great Horwood Road, from the uncontrolled crossing at the junction with A413 Buckingham Road to a farm entrance gate south-east of Roddimore Farm. This initiative is aimed to improve the safety of residents and all road users.

We would like to hear your views on the proposal.

What We Are Proposing:

We are proposing to introduce a 40mph speed limit on Great Horwood Road from the uncontrolled crossing at the junction with the A413 Buckingham Road (Figure 1) to a farm entrance gate, south – east of Roddimore Farm (Figure 2).

As part of the initiative, adjustments will be made to the placement of signage, with the left sign shown in Figure 1, to be relocated to align with the right one. The existing national speed limit signs will be replaced with new 40mph speed limit signs.

Figure 1:  Looking towards Great Horwood Road from the A413. Proposed 40mph will start just north from the uncontrolled crossing (with tactile paving).

Figure 2: Proposed Northern end of 40mph limit (Roddimore Farm is behind us; farm entrance gate is to the right). The exact positioning of new signs here are to be determined at a later stage.
