Great Western Street - Parking Restriction Statutory Consultation

Closes 5 Mar 2025

Opened 12 Feb 2025

Overview

Buckinghamshire Council's Network Safety Team has identified this site based on the annual injury collision analysis. There is a history of collisions with pedestrians leaving the Aylesbury bus station and being involved in collisions with vehicles on Great Western Street and the corner of Walton Street near the taxi rank.

Buckinghmashire Highways are proposing to enhance pedestrian facilities from the bus station to the marketplace by formalizing an on-carriageway walking route. This path will be situated between the existing dropped kerbs on Great Western Street and the start of Walton Street.

What we are proposing

Great Western Street

Upgrading the existing uncontrolled crossing by eliminating one parking space directly in front and reconfiguring the area into two separate parking bays to accommodate a buildout for crossing that improves visibility.
