Buckinghamshire Highways proposed to introduce a ban on Heavy Good Vehicles (HGVs) exceeding 7.5 tonnes from accessing Main Street, Radclive - cum - Chackmore, between the A422 and A421, a measure aimed to address the concerns of HGVs using the route as a bypass to reach Buckingham.

The proposal received a overwhelming level of support (>95%) from respondents and local members.
We did
Following the Statutory Consultation, Buckinghamshire Highways submitted a report, detailing our findings and our recommendation to Buckinghamshire Council to proceed with implementing the proposal.
Buckinghamshire Council made a formal decision on 9th October 2024, agreeing with the reccomendation. You can find the formal decision here: Decision - MK18 4AB, Main Street, Radclive cum Chackmore HGV ban - Modern Council.
The proposal is anticipated to be implemented in early July 2025. In line with the works, a Traffic Regulation Order will also be introduced around that time.
Overview
It is proposed to introduce a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) ban on MK18 4AB, Main Street, Radclive cum Chackmore between its junction with the A422(in the north) and the A421(in the South) and the side road to the church. This measure aims to address safety concerns regarding HGVs using the village as a bypass for Buckingham.

What happens next
We will consider all the responses and prepare a report. The Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport will review the report and make a decision about the proposed scheme.
