Have your say on new locations to enforce moving traffic offences in High Wycombe town centre
Overview
We want your views on proposed new camera locations to enforce moving traffic offences in High Wycombe town centre.
We can issue fines to vehicles that break moving traffic restrictions such as:
- driving in a bus lane
- taking a restricted turn - for example, turning right at a left-only junction
- stopping in a hatched box
- entering and waiting in pedestrian zones
Enforcing moving traffic offences:
- improves pedestrian and cyclist safety
- reduces congestion
- improves journey times for public transport
- improves safety around schools

Proposed new camera locations
Working with Thames Valley Police, we have reviewed road safety reports, historical data and ongoing complaints regarding compliance, to identify new locations to enforce moving traffic offences.
High Wycombe town centre
We are proposing to introduce cameras at the following locations in High Wycombe town centre:
- White Hart Street
- Queens Square
- Bull Lane
These locations are Pedestrian Zones except for permit holders. Permits provide access to private off-street parking only. Full details of the restrictions in High Wycombe town centre are available on Traffweb.
To apply for a permit for one of these locations, email HWTownCentreMTE@buckinghamshire.gov.uk with the following details:
- your name
- company name if applying on behalf of an organisation
- details of your off-street parking that can only be accessed via the Pedestrian Zone
- registration number(s) of the vehicle(s) requiring access
- contact telephone number
How we enforce moving traffic offences
We use automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras to enforce certain restrictions across Buckinghamshire.
If your vehicle breaks a moving traffic restriction, you will be sent a fine for £70.00. This is reduced to £35.00 if paid within 21 days of the penalty charge notice being served.
Moving traffic offences can still be enforced in locations where we have not installed cameras. In these locations you may be issued a moving traffic fine by the police.
How to have your say
The moving traffic restrictions at these locations are already in place. We want to hear your views on our proposal to enforce the restrictions using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras. For example, if you think the current restriction is clearly signed.
Please note, we are not proposing to remove or amend the restrictions.
