School admissions consultation 2027

Closes 26 Jan 2026

Opened 1 Dec 2025

Overview

We want to hear your views about proposed changes to school admissions for 2027 entry.

Buckinghamshire Council is the admission authority for all voluntary controlled and community schools in the council area. Each year we consult on any planned changes to the county admissions scheme, school admission rules (oversubscription criteria), published admission number (PAN) and catchment areas.

No significant changes are proposed to the county admissions scheme or the admission rules for either primary or secondary schools for 2027 entry.

Reduction to a school’s PAN requires formal consultation, and it is proposed to reduce the PAN for The Disraeli School.

The proposed reduction is from 90 places to 60 places.

We are not proposing to change the catchment area for any schools for which we are the admission authority.

The Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services agreed on 18 November 2025 to consult on these matters. This consultation will close on 26 January 2026 and then the 2027 voluntary controlled and community school admission arrangements will be determined. This will be the subject of a council cabinet member or leader decision prior to 28 February 2026.
