Ashley Green Neighbourhood Plan submission consultation
Overview

We want to hear the views of local residents and organisations on the Neighbourhood Plan for Ashley Green.
In May 2025, the Parish of Ashley Green was designated a neighbourhood area by Buckinghamshire Council. This followed an application by Ashley Green Parish Council.
Ashley Green Parish Council has now completed a period of local community engagement on the Ashley Green Neighbourhood Plan and have submitted the final version to us.
The next stage of the process is for us, as the local authority, to carry out a public consultation on the submitted plan.
This is the final opportunity for local people to comment on the plan before it goes to independent examination.
The Ashley Green Neighbourhood Plan includes policies to shape local development to:
- define a settlement boundary
- support limited infill housing development
- designate local green spaces
- preserve and enhance key views, vistas and landscape character
- identify and protect Local Heritage Assets

What happens next
This neighbourhood plan was submitted prior to the publication of the August 2026 National Planning Policy Framework and is therefore being prepared under the transitional arrangements outlined in Annex A of that framework. This means that the plan will be examined using the December 2024 National Planning Policy Framework.
Following consultation, we will collate the responses and submit them to an independent examiner.
The examiner will consider public comments and ensure the plan meets the basic conditions in the Localism Act and other relevant regulations.
If the plan passes independent examination, the next stage is a local referendum to see whether it has community support.
If the neighbourhood plan is supported, we will adopt it as part of local planning policy to assess planning applications in the neighbourhood area.
