We want to hear the views of local residents and organisations on the Neighbourhood Plan for Maids Moreton.

In June 2016, the Parish of Maids Moreton was designated a Neighbourhood Area by the former Aylesbury Vale District Council (now Buckinghamshire Council). This followed an application by Maids Moreton Parish Council.

Maids Moreton Parish Council has now completed a period of local community engagement on the Maids Moreton Neighbourhood Plan and have submitted the final version to us.

The next stage of the process is for us, as the local authority, to carry out a public consultation on the submitted plan.

This is the final opportunity for local people to comment on the plan before it goes to independent examination.

The Maids Moreton Neighbourhood Plan includes policies to shape local development to:

  • ensure sustainable growth
  • guide the mix and type of future residential development
  • protect / enhance community facilities
  • protect / enhance the natural and rural environment
  • designate Local Green Spaces
  • promote sustainable design
  • protect / enhance historic character

What happens next

Following consultation, we will collate the responses and submit them to an independent examiner.

If the plan passes independent examination, the next stage is a local referendum to see whether it has community support.

If the neighbourhood plan is supported, we will adopt it as part of local planning policy to assess planning applications in the Neighbourhood Area.
