HS2 Tranche 3: Baker Street, Waddesdon Parking Restrictions

Overview

Buckinghamshire Highways is proposing to introduce a new parking restrictions on parts of Baker Street and School Lane in Waddesdon.

This scheme is being taken forward as part of the HS2 Road Safety Fund (Tranche 3) to help improve road safety in areas affected by increased traffic.

We would like to hear your thoughts on the proposal.

Background

Local residents and the Parish Council have raised ongoing concerns about parking and road safety, particularly along Baker Street. Parking along unrestricted sections is causing obstruction and making it difficult for vehicles to pass.

Traffic levels in the area have also increased in recent years, partly due to HS2 construction. This includes more large vehicles using the route, which has made the situation worse. In some places, parked cars narrow the road to the point where larger vehicles, including school buses and emergency services, struggle to get through. There have also been instances where visibility is reduced, especially near junctions.

Although there are already some parking restrictions in place, these haven’t fully resolved the problems, and issues with congestion and access remain.

Proposal

To help address these issues, the Council is proposing to introduce new parking restrictions through a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) mention in below table:
