HS2 Tranche 3: Main Street, Padbury Priority Narrowing

Buckinghamshire Highways is proposing to introduce priority narrowing (build-out) on Main Street, Padbury.

This scheme is being taken forward as part of the HS2 Road Safety Fund (Tranche 3) to help improve road safety in areas affected by increased traffic due to HS2 work.

We would like to hear your thoughts on the proposal.

Background

Padbury has experienced increased traffic in recent years, including vehicles associated with HS2 works. This has raised concerns about vehicle speeds within the village, particularly on routes where vehicles enter into village at higher speed.

A key issue is that certain sections of Main Street, where the road layout is relatively straight with good visibility, tend to encourage higher vehicle speeds as drivers enter the village. This has made conditions more difficult for both pedestrians and other road users.

Overall, there is a need for measures to reduce traffic speeds and improve safety within the village.

Our Proposals

To address these issues, the Council is proposing a traffic calming measure to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety for all road users. Refer table below for location and proposal.
