St Johns C of E Primary School, Lacey Green – Parking restrictions

Closed 16 Mar 2020

Opened 14 Feb 2020

Overview

You are invited to comment on our proposals for parking restrictions around St. John’s C of E Primary School.

We’ve worked with the school, parish councillors and the local county councillor to draft these proposals. The aim is to make the roads safer for everyone and easier for emergency vehicle access.

We are proposing double yellow lines on one side of Main Road to prevent dangerous and inconsiderate parking.

We also propose small stretches of double yellow lines on the opposite side of Main Road to allow residents to access their properties. The unrestricted sections would allow safe parking for parents to drop-off and collect their children.

The parking would also act as a form of natural traffic-calming and encourage people to drive more carefully through the village.

The double yellow lines would also be installed to prevent parking at the junctions with Kiln Lane, Church Lane and Slad Lane. Additionally, we are proposing a bus-stop clearway to allow enough space for buses to safely pick-up and drop-off passengers.

Letters have been delivered to some residents in Lacey Green who are most directly affected by the proposals. This means that the proposals are directly outside their house or are on the same road. Not all residents in Lacey Green will have received a letter.
