High Wycombe, Marlow, and Chalfont St. Giles Restrictions 2026
Overview

Buckinghamshire Highways are proposing to introduce, amend and remove a number of parking restrictions in locations across High Wycombe, Marlow and Chalfont St. Giles.
We would like to hear your views on the proposals.
Background and our aims
High Wycombe
We have two projects in High Wycombe:
- Portland House project
The Portland House project seeks to address long-standing local concerns by undertaking public realm and highway improvements around Portland House, situated between Arnison Avenue and Hillview Road.
The highway improvements will include traffic calming measures and introducing parking restrictions to improve parking turnover and ensure the junctions and its approaches are clear of traffic.

- Junction protection along Hughenden Avenue as well as Hughenden Boulevard
There are four locations across Hughenden Avenue which have requested Double Yellow Lines (No Waiting at Any Time) to be implemented.
In addition, we also amending the existing Traffic Regulation Order at the junction between Hughenden Avenue with Hughenden Boulevard to reflect the change from a single yellow line to double yellow lines.
We are proposing the following restrictions:

Marlow
West Street, Spittal Street and High Street form a core part of Marlow's road network. Proposals have been put forward to introduce restrictions which will improve the flow of traffic and goods through these roads.
Amendments will be made to Quoiting Square car park as well as formalising new double yellow lines opposite Holy Trinity CE School.
We are proposing the following amendments:

Chalfont St. Giles
Two requests submitted through Community Board.
- As part of the our commitment to accommodate blue badge holders on our roads, we are proposing to introduce a disabled bay on High Street outside the Barber Lounge.
- In line with Rule 243 of the Highway Code, double yellow lines have been requested as junction protection.
We are proposing the following amendments:
