Amersham Road (A355) and Maxwell Road, Beaconsfield - Speed and waiting restrictions

Overview

The A355 Improvement Project has delivered a number of changes along Amersham Road in Beaconsfield.

To complete this scheme we are required to implement a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) to enforce the necessary restrictions. We are now conducting a statutory consultation and invite your comments.

Please see the attached plans and documents for more information. In summary we propose to:

• introduce a 30 mph speed limit along Maxwell Road where it links with the junction at the new roundabout (by Hyde Green)
• extend permanent waiting restriction on both sides of Maxwell Road where it links with the the new roundabout
• reduce the speed limit to 30 mph on Amersham Road from number 45 up to the north side of the roundabout
• introduce a 40 mph speed limit on Amersham Road and the new relief road starting from the north side of the roundabout by the railway bridge up to Minerva Way

The A355 Improvements Project is a partnership between Buckinghamshire County Council and Buckinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

It has been paid for with funding secured from the Local Growth Fund and Local Transport Body.

What happens next

We will consider all the responses and prepare a report. The Council’s Cabinet Member for Transportation will review the report and make a decision about the proposal.

Consultees will be informed of the decision once it has been made.
